We made it through the first day of school - 4th and 1st grades. I learned that I will have to be very flexible with the baby. I had phonics and math scheduled during what I thought would be nap time. Nap time was about an hour later which sent my "schedule" to ruins. I had everything planned so I could easily bounce between the two girls, each one doing independent work while I worked with the other. I am a work in progress and learning to be flexible has been a long lesson!
The girls enjoyed school today. They took books on Rome to bed with them so they could keep reading and looking at pictures. We are starting in the Middle Ages and are reviewing the Fall of Rome. They both received their own world atlas today and they loved looking at Europe. We (yes, me too) have been learning the names of the countries using "Geography Songs". I am thankful that God has called us to homeschool, I am learning right along side the girls. I had a refresher on proper use of prepositions - grammar, one of my weak points.
Our first co-op is next week - stained glass and mosaics. Stay tuned.

Hi!
I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to add you to my blogroll - I am interested in following your journey this year through TOG and Saxon. I hope that we can meet in person soon!
No problem and I will do the same. I have been enjoying your posts! I think we see each other at first service on Sundays. I will say "Hi" the next time I see you.

S starts preschool on Monday and she is so excited! She will be going for 3 hours a day.
Looks like the girls are excited about school too!
